Fire Marshal

What We Do

The Fire Marshal is responsible for inspections for Fire Safety, underground fuel tank removal, restaurants, day care centers, schools, wood stoves for all buildings and other places of public assembly.  The Fire Marshal inspects all occupancies except one and two family dwellings and premises used for manufacturing.  

The Fire Marshal’s office is responsible for determining the cause and origin of fires, explosions, hazardous material. Data is collected and results are used to track trends for future prevention activities, and to refer criminal acts for prosecution. 

The Fire Marshal’s office issues permits for blasting operations, pyrotechnic displays and vehicles carrying hazardous materials.
