In late 2013, the SBA awarded a grant to UConn to manage a comprehensive Business Disaster and Disruption program for Connecticut small businesses. Sixteen organizations are working to provide training, education, and counseling to small businesses of any type and in any location in the state. The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut is a key partner and one outcome of their work is the PrepareCT website. This website contains a training module on six major areas of business preparedness, worksheets that business owners can download to create a preparedness plan, and resources to expand their knowledge on actions they can take to minimize disruption.
