Thompson Garden By the River Update

Thompson Garden by the River

Volunteers planted vegetable starts donated by Blackmer Farms on Sunday 24 May at the Thompson Garden By the River, located at 65 Main Street. In light of concerns created by COVID-19 social distancing requirements, for this inaugural season of the community garden, instead of offering plots for rent to the community at large, the founding volunteers will maintain the site this year. Once the produce is ready for harvest, the volunteers will offer it to any Thompson residents who find themselves in need due to the economic effects of these unusual times. Keep your eye out for updates on how the garden is growing, and how to get in touch if you would like to share the harvest.

The Thompson Garden By the River, In Memory of Harriet Tourtellotte, was funded in part by the Economic Development Commission, the Last Green Valley and the Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors. Thanks to all of our volunteers who helped make it a reality!
