Invitation for Public Comment - Flood Prevention Ordinance and new VAD Ordinance

The public is invited to comment on the revised section of the Flood Plain Management Ordinance 160, Section 160-5 to 160-12 related to Flood Damage Prevention. The changes are required by FEMA in order to qualify for the National Flood Insurance Program. To view the revised section of the Ordinance, click here. 

The public is also invited to comment on the proposed new Ordinance related to Control of Vacant, Abandoned and Tax Delinquent (VAD) Structures in Certain Districts.  To view the proposed Ordinance, click here.

The period for public comment for both Ordinances will be open from August 2, 2023 to August 10, 2023. All comments received will be compiled and shared with the Board of Selectmen for review and discussion at their next Board of Selectmen meeting.  The comment deadline is due to FEMA's deadline.  The Ordinances will go to Town Meeting for approval, tentatively scheduled on August 29, 2023.
