THE FUTURE OF THE RIVER MILL — A PUBLIC INFORMATION EVENT

Thompson, CT, November 2019 — The Town of Thompson invites community members to participate in an open conversation on the future of the River Mill on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Thompson Public Library/Louis P. Faucher Community Center.

Join Thompson residents, business owners, local leaders, and key public officials, including state and federal EPA and DEEP representatives to discuss the recent progress and upcoming work conducted at the River Mill and its surrounding areas. The BAR (Brownfield Areawide Redevelopment) Project area comprises much of the Villages of Grosvenordale and North Grosvenordale – the most populated district in Town, and the center of civic, commercial and cultural activity.

The keynote speaker for this event is John Gumpert — President at Camden Management Partners Inc. who is currently working on redevelopment plans for the large complex at 929 Riverside Drive. The preliminary plans call for retail space, business space, and 300 market-rate apartments. “We’re very excited to engage with the public and inform them on what we’ve been working on for the past several months,” said Janet Blanchette, chair of the Mill Site Redevelopment Advisory Committee, “We hope that many members of the public are able to join us for this presentation and keep everyone on the same page for this important project.”

Following the presentation, participants are invited to join us in a Q&A session. Refreshments will be served.
