Great Thompson Trainwreck Diorama at the Library

Trainwreck Diorama

A beautifully crafted model of the famous December 4, 1891 Four Engine Train Wreck in East Thompson will be on display for public viewing in the Thompson Public Library Meeting Room through December.

The model, built by Stan Swanson based on the research of Tom Chase, Curator of the Ramsdell Transportation Collection, represents the scene seconds after the accident. The diorama is part of the Thompson Historical Society archives and is usually housed at the Tourtellotte Memorial High School Museum space. The Thompson Public Library is honored to share this historical story with our community.
