Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group

TEEG: A Helping Hand to Those in Need, A Resource to Unite the Entire Community

TEEG is a human services organization that provides social services and community enrichment programs for individuals and families in Thompson, Connecticut.

The agency was founded in 1988 through a dynamic and unprecedented collaboration of concerned citizens, local government officials and clergy. Over the years, our focus has changed from a handout to a hands-up agency fostering the community’s ability to help each other. Our name – Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group – embodies our commitment to provide programs that benefit all aspects of our community.

The TEEG Mission
More than just a helping hand to those in need, TEEG is a resource to unite the entire community. We administer needs-based services as well as provide community enrichment programs. Our mission is to:
Empower individuals to live independently
Strengthen families to live respectfully
Engage the community to work collaboratively
Connect resources to promote a better future for all

TEEG Programs
It’s hard to look among us and find someone who has never needed a helping hand. At TEEG, that’s exactly what we have to offer. Whether it’s emergent assistance, crisis intervention, a little bit of direction, or ongoing support, we are here…and we are glad to help.
As part of our mission to empower individuals to live independently, TEEG administers several needs-based programs that require a proof of income for eligibility.
