Mission

The Library's mission is to provide the best possible informational, educational, cultural and recreational services in a warm and inviting environment.

During 2007/2008, the Library had 57,131 visitors, loaned 94,448 items, answered 16,501 reference questions, provided 4,412 hours of computer use to 4,206 patrons, hosted 1,383 meetings, and shared stories and programs with 5,083 children & families.

Overview

The Thompson Public Library/Community Center is a 20,400 square foot facility, which opened in 1994.

The collection consists of more than 55,000 items -- books, audiobooks on tape & CD, large print books, videotapes & DVDs, music CDs, 130+ magazine & newspaper subscriptions.

Some of the many services and programs offered include:   Homebound delivery, Playcorner in the Children’s Area, Art @ the Library, downloadable audiobooks, photocopier, online databases available 24/7, and passes to local attractions.
