Thompson is a unique town located in the northeast corner of Connecticut bordering Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In Thompson you will find many different villages with a variety of housing. Also, you will find a unique rural character with a beautiful country setting. The town also has the Historic Thompson Common, where militias trained from the time of the French and Indian War until disbanded by the State Legislature in the mid 1800’s. Thompson is also located in the nationally recognized Quinebaug Shetucket Heritage Corridor also known as the Last Green Valley. In Thompson, a visitor can enjoy our municipal and State parks as well as a state of the art Library and Community Center. Additionally, there are many businesses that blend into our community including a historic mill that adds to the character of Thompson and a historic and still very active Thompson International Speedway.
